Cyclone Football Jerseys Permanent Collection

I have collected these jerseys over the years in an attempt to have one of every version of home jersey from 1977 to present day.  Of course some jerseys in my collection fall outside this range but I make exceptions for historical significance.

1953-1954?

This may be a home jersey from 1953-1954.  I can't find any color photos to confirm this but the black and whites look similar in style.  This photo of Dirty Thirty member Dwight Nichols may also represent this style of jersey suggesting they were still in use in 1959, perhaps for practice.  I would love if someone could confirm or dispute this jersey as a legitimate Iowa State jersey.

1990 -- STILL NEEDED

Looks like the 1989 except numbers on sleeves instead of shoulders.

1991-1992 Home Jersey

Picture
In 1992 This jersey featured a commemorative patch on the left chest celebrating 100 years of Iowa State Football.  I am still looking for this patch.  This is the style of jersey worn for the 19-10 win over top 5 ranked Nebraska featuring the miraculous run by QB Marv Seiler.

1995 Home Jersey

Style of jersey worn during Coach McCarney's first year with Iowa State and style worn by Troy Davis as he started his back to back 2000 yard seasons.

1996 Home Jersey

Picture
This is the style of jersey worn by Troy Davis during his back to back seasons of 2000 rushing yards, the only RB to ever accomplish this feat. He finished second in Heisman voting by only 200 votes after winning 3 of the 6 voting regions.

1997 Home Jersey

Picture
The 1998 jersey is very similar, but instead of a BigXII logo at the collar it has a BigXII flag on the left chest.

1999-2000 Home Jersey

Picture
This style of jersey was worn during Iowa State's 9-3 season capped with an Insight.com Bowl win over Pittsburgh.

2001 Home Jersey

Picture
This season ended in a controversial "missed" field goal against Alabama in the Independence Bowl that was clearly good.

2002-2003 Home Jersey

Picture
Iowa State played in the away version of this style of jersey for the 2002 Humanitarian bowl in Boise, Idaho. This season saw Iowa State climb all the way into the top ten, beat Nebraska, and have the Heisman frontrunner only to lose 6 of their final 7 games including the bowl game.

2004-2007 Home Jersey

Picture
This style of jersey was worn in Independence Bowl victory over Miami, OH in 2004, and in 2005 EV1.net Houston Bowl in loss to TCU.

2007 Throwback Home Jersey

Picture
This style of jersey was worn only for one game.  The 15-13 victory over rival Iowa.  It commemorates one of Iowa State's greatest teams, the 1977 squad that wore the away jerseys of this style in the Peach Bowl.
